#STEAMCuriousCalendar2020 - Day 18 - Flying Rein Deer

Writer's picture: Julie MbayeJulie Mbaye

Dec 18th, 2020

Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen, and Rudolph are all Santa's reindeers 🦌🎅🏼🎄

Have you ever seen them flying ? My son and I believe we did few years back on December 24th around midnight !🌠✨✨

Today's challenge is to recreate a scene with flying characters or objects using Scratch.

To do so :

  1. Connect to Scratch online or use download offline version.

  2. Choose a Sprite (your character) from Scratch library, upload or even create you own.

  3. Animate the Sprite(s) to make it look like it is flying. A little hint is that you can use the glide block from the Motion section. we share few tips in below section.

  4. To make it more difficult, you can try to include additional sprites and synchronize them like we did in our Flying Reindeer sample project here.

  5. Once you are happy, spread the "flying" joy by sharing your project in STEAM & Curious Scratch Studio . We will be happy to like it and share!

  6. Share your project on social media with the hashtag #STEAMCuriousCalendar2020 and tag me with @steam.and.curious so we can all view your amazing work!

Check out how we did on our Flying Reindeer project :

Let the fun begin !

Don't forget to share the link to your project, code or even a snapshot of your pixel art / 3D creations on social media with the hashtag #STEAMCuriousCalendar2020 and tag me with @steam.and.curious so we can all view your amazing work!
